In case it matters to the OP, there are a couple of factors that indicate propping is not for beginners.
First, you had better already be an accomplished player with a reasonable bankroll. You'll be expected to play at levels that generate a large amount of rake for the site and that means $2/$4 and above (LH) or $.50/$1 (NLH) and above. Second, Your short-handed skills need to be top-rate because you'll be starting tables and filling very short tables. Nobody pays a prop to sit in at a full low limit table.
Normally, when someone asks for basic advice about bonuses he or she doesn't fit the profile of a successful prop player. Sorry if I'm off-base here.
